This deviant was created by myself, Oscar Blanco Jr. to honor the sadly little known artistic side of my father. A Masters in Marine Biology, teacher, father and recently grandfather. Avid home owner, Constructor and Realtor in his retirement years. I have tried pushing him back into what I know was always a passion of his: Photography.

He still owns his Canon Ftb, a great manual camera. Also I bought him several "new" lenses on eBay recently, in hopes of inspiring him to take up the viewfinder again and start shooting.

For now, no luck, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

So in the meantime, I will take advantage of a task he asked of me, scanning (or in this case copying by shooting the slides directly with my digital duplicator lens) some old family slides, which as I copy and catalog, and save in a format that can later be used comfortably on a dvd player, will also go through to choose and upload to this deviant.

Some of these family shots are truly gorgeous, great portrait photography of mostly children (my brother, sisters and I). And it is my wish to share them with the world, to later show him as a special gift surprise what I'm sure will be positive or at least constructive feedback, and maybe, just maybe, I will acomplish finally inspiring him to take up his old Canon once again, or who knows, maybe jumping into the new era and getting a neat new digital SRL
All in all, get him out of his routine, traveling (which will make my mom VERY happy) and simply taking the much deserved long loooong vacation he should be having
